Using a longer lens you can get that fine detail in the ceiling or other parts of the building as you walk around looking at this detail and wonder how this was constructed so many years ago

There is a little hint of the wear as the line of the piece brings you in and out of the frame

A few years ago I visited the gardens and it is one of those places you can spend all day with your camera

Using some trees in the area as well as the historic buildings in the foreground I zoomed in on the tower just after sunset to capture this image

This is no longer the case as the motel has been closed

This was a combination of being assigned a runway which was on the west side of the airport. This allowed the shadow of the airplane I was to cast on one of the de icing pads at the airport as we neared landing.
